Just when I was looking at selling my bigma :( Are the extension tubes the autofocus ones?

Fee, these shots are stunning and jaw-dropping.
Love the perfect detail in these shots and the colour of the first one, the Roseate Skimmer, is gorgeous. Nice ones.

I love these shots. I still have not had a chance to shot any dragon flies. I have a backyard pond, just waiting to see some when I am out there.

Blooming heck Fee,how many tubes did you use for these?
They look superb,i would say they came out of a real macro lens.
Well done mate.

Thanks Skydolphin, Atver, Dennis, Transportithere, Dan, Weka, Tony, John, Dimitri, Mike. I really appreciate the comments. :)

Dan, i'm sure they all hang out at the creek or ponds with plenty vegetation.;)

Weka, i understand you have the light fall off on FF problem with Bigma. Despite that, it is a great birding lens and when you stack some tubes, it becomes an awesome macro lens that offers the working space not many other lenses can offer. When shooting dragonfly and butterfly, there's certain distance limit i can push. That's where Bigma shines. It allows you to shoot them without spooking them.;) The Kenko tubes (12+20+36=68mm total) that i use have contact. So the aperture reading from the lens is retained. Most people set the lens to MF when using ext. tubes (and tripod) because most tele hunts, including the 70-200f4L that i tried. Also, the DoF is so narrow when shooting macro, MF ensures more accurate focus IMHO.:)

Dimitri, i used all 3 rings, so 68mm total. It is close to 1:1, i think (i forget how to calculate Macro ratio :p). These are uncropped and the magnification ratio i got, works well.:)

Mike, i was amazed too when a friend taught me how to use Bigma as macro. Works wonderfully.:D
