This was taken on a hill, underneath an awning using an off-camera flash.
Let me know what you guys think. I would have liked to include more of the coastline in the background, but it's hard with that crop, so there's only a little bit showing.

I like this shot. Very nice. Could almost have convinced me that it was a studio the way the lighting is set up! :)

Was the flash to the camera right? Did you use a diffuser of any sort?

nice shot!

i like it alot. very cute pose for a senior pic, and great location. her smile looks a little labored, but that may just be my take on it
that is probably just the way she looks

Thanks for your comments. Yes, flash was camera right, slightly higher than she was, not quite at a 45deg angle. Here's another that shows the backgound a little better. It was 4pm, with lots of haze in the sky, so maybe I should have used a polarizer?

I think that's exccellent (#1 that is; don't like #2). About the only thing I could have asked for would have been her hair to be juuust slightmore out of her eye.

Very nice!

The first is nice. I don't like the second because she doesn't look comfortable -- the pose looks forced.

Nice work. Especially #1. The light balance is very good and she is quite attractive. The background works really well here too.
