Opinions please

I have posted these on other parts of the forum but I see that people get the most C&C from here..opinions?
The waterfall was done without a tripod so no misty water, only resizing for here done in PP.
The eagle was cropped and resized for here.(This was done on my HP)

In your first rendition of the eagle, I was going to recommend cropping off the bright diagonal rock, because it seems to intrude and is too bright. Otherwise, I really like the lighting, the exposure and tonal range. It's an excellent nature shot.

However, when you tried the PopGlow, it seems to have caused the highlights in the top of his head to blow out completely. So, to that extent, I don't like it nearly as well as your initial version.

I love your waterfall, and I would not apologize regarding the "misty" quality of most waterfall shots. I like this one very much. The only thing I might have done differently would be to change my position right or left and change the angle of the shot accordingly in order to get the main falls off center a bit.

the waterfall is nice, id go back with either an IS lens and a good ND filter or wait till sun up (just before...the golden hour) or just at dusk and do the whole 1 -2 second shutterspeed . For the eagle, try useing the lasso tool in ps around the eagle, go up to select, click inverse and bring the colors of the BG down just a hair, then go back to selections, hit inverse again and bring the saturation up on the eagle just a hair.. it might help, you could try the high lite / shadow tool at this point also or adjust brightness/ contrast a touch but it might blow out highlites... try curves too but not too much, just a touch ...lol just some suggestions

Photovagrant...I've never used Popglow but I don't think it works here.It makes it seem *unreal* if that makes sense.
RoBert...thanks for the great comments and the suggestion to remove the branch, I think that would improve it.Oh and I didn't do the popglow thing, I had image editing turned off but whatever.

The eagle shot is quite low in contrast - please add a bit.

what lens of yours gave you that squary looking bokeh?

Jay- I'm assuming you mean behind the eagle...its an HP Photosmart camera...my older camera before my XT, its great to carry around (5.3 mp, 10x optical) but no changeable lenses.
I have tried to follow some advice here..as admitted not to great at PP but here's a go at it.
I increased contrast, and *tried* to clone out the stand. Opinions again??

that bokeh is just too distracting to enjoy the photo of the eagle. too bad it was taken with a p&s....would've been a great shot with a better lens

In what you've done, you now have blown highlights on the eagle's head where you had detail in the feathers before. The contrast does look better but it might be the source of your blown highlights.

ok i give up..I'm just leaving it the way it was..lol
