Oh come on, all of you know you get comments from other people while you're using a big white lens!

I'm sure we all get the "woah, nice camera!", but I'd like to hear what other ridiculousness you guys get while just trying to take pictures.

Someone actually commented on the color of my camera. He said he knew the lens was good, but he never expected such a lens to be on a silver camera body. I laughed and walked away.

"That building in the background is distracting."
"Oh OK, I'll move it out of the way next time."

Obviously...the black ones are a way better camera.

"What's the zoom on that thing?"

With the 17-40 on: "Whoa, you must get some AWESOME closeups with that thing!! It's huge!!"

I have heard.."WOW now thats a lens."
heard a guy next to me with his rebel film camera and little lens commenting.
"If my big lens wasnt such a hassle to use I woulda brought that"
if you want the shot you will use it.
"now thats a Zoom"
"Move out of his way he is a photographer"....LOL

with a 17-85mm lens only...
"dude, that's a huge camera"
---------------
with 70-200IS in central park
"you must be a paparazzi right?"
i've also gotten
"what newspaper do you work for"
suprisingly,
"is that thing for birding?"
and my favorite
"i have lens envy now"

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I had my wimpy 70-210 on my XT a month or so ago at the beach taking some pics of a friend doing some skimboarding. Some kids followed us down the beach and asked:

"What magazine is this for?"

I loved hearing it though.:)

"That lens must take awesome pictures". //"Yes, I do" was my response.

"Who do you shoot for?" .//"Me" was my response.

"You can bring that lens in here sir" .//"Why? the lady beside me has more zoom on her point and shoot camera" was my response.

"You bought another lens?" .//"I love you" was my response.

Funny how the point and shoot world of film and digital killed the film SLR use to the point that any lens/dslr combo in public these days is a marvel.

Don't these people remember 1981?
