Gotta love that site's definition of "theft". In fact, if you simply visit http://scifi.uk.com …s_optimus_prime_large.jpg (external link) you'll discover that they are accusing themselves of being thieves. And that's 100% correct, because there is an explicit disclaimer on the site pointing out that although they have tried to get permission to use the images they are hosting, they don't promise to have been successful in all cases.

(...not to mention the fact that "deep linking" is still an unresolved question in copyright law.)

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

i was doing an assignment for my school newspaper and i ended up following a group of sorority girls, and so they were asking me "ohh you're a photographer, is that what youre majoring in" or "so i guess youre into photography" etc etc..

then when i was done photographing for the article one of the girls thanks me and said something along the lines of "well if you ever need to model anything, let me know, i can be your designated model photography thingy"

my pansy @$$ just said "thanks, sounds good" and left it at that :(

Hahah. Oopsies Tim!

They must've put that in once they noticed all the hits from this site, I did check that and it seemed to work fine (ie checkd in different browser so caching wasn't an issue). I didn't want to steal their image by attaching it to my post, and they've stopped hotlinking. That's fine, it's their image to do what they want with.

At the skate park with my friend Matt:
"Woah, a photographer! Who do you shoot for?"
"Matt, is he your photographer?"
"Can you do sequences; like those shots one after another really fast?"
"Hi nice to meet you My name is _____ ______, check out this varial kick flip off of this four stair."
^ I got that 4 times with different names and different moves.

Best Regards,
-Ericson.

Wedding I just shot, had a lady eye lock my camera for a long time. I was by the aisle to get a pic of the bride coming down and she just kept staring. *shrugs*

There was a 40D owner there and I was just waiting for a "my screen is bigger than yours" or "mine's newer" but instead the guy didn't know how to use it so he kept taking pics with the pop up of some girl showing off the constant flash. I turned mine to continuous and shot off a burst of 7 shots with my 430 and everyone was like, "o0o0o0 he showed you!"

I went to a Championship HS football game as the teams photographer but without credentials. At the gate I was asked if I was with the press (40D, 70-200 f/28 hanging on my neck) I said NO but that I was the team photographer. The guy replied in disbelief, "you mean they have their own photographer?" I replied "Yep". He shook his head and let me onto the field. They won, which means I win.

Best ridiculous comment to date for me! I work so much with so many different media's around my area and cover so many events that I just got this response tonight at an awards show.

"Do you have a twin brother or a clone running around? I see you everywhere!" Model
"Shhhh, don't let the secret out. There's actually 5 clones running around and we are close to dominating the world one photo at a time." Me

I'm covering between 3-10 events every week, just did 3 events this weekend and I usually run into the same models and event organizers. I'm crazy and tired.

I was at Beaches in Negril last year with my family. I was shooting my 3 year old dancing at the Sesame Street Show (20D, Tamron 28-75, Ex430) and this one little boy kept standing in front of the camera. I was trying to be politle and ask him to move so I can take a picture of my daughter. He parents must of just heard me say move and came over to me and said, "why wont wont you take pictures of my kid! I'm going to report you in the morning." FYI, Beaches have staff photogs that going around all day and night taken pictures and then over charge you for them at the end of your stay.

I'm leaving to go back to Negril Friday, same resort. But this year I have a 24-105L. I should have a few good coments when I get back.

What resort? My wife and I stayed at Grand Lido Negril for our honeymoon in Oct '06. Nice and private there, and no vendors on the beaches!! :D

Not a long lens comment but in the spirit of the thread-

Gave my 350d to a fellow trekker on holiday to take a pic of me and the girlfriend- 'Oooh, it makes a noise like a real camera too'
