I'll have to remember that one the next time someone makes that comment.

I was asked last night what magazine I was shooting for, and all I had on the camera was a Tamron zoom.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Kills me how suspicious everyone is. I remember a couple years ago when I stopped at a convenience store. I had just gotten my SD300 P&S. So I was playing around, shooting stuff in the car, pointed it up to see how nice the screen was, and this person happened to walk by the front of the car. They went inside, and not a minute later the owner came out asking what I was taking pictures of. I said "nothin..I'm just playing with my new camera"

"I'm gonna have to ask you to leave."

A mother, while grabbing her young children: "Stay out of that man's way. He's taking pictures for the newspaper." (I've never worked for a newspaper.)

Seriously though, a flash bracket will get just as much respect. You can walk through a crowd and people will back out of your way as though you were a policeman with a .45 strapped to your belt. I think it's the sync cord that people find most impressive.

Borrowed my friends 300L f/2.8 for my nephews baseball game. One of the parents asked if I could get good shots of the moon with it. My reply - Bend over and I'll see;) . (not to worry, I knew the person)

Who do you work for?- that one is really common..

and my favorite.. 'that looks like a big camera for a little girl'..

I rented the 400mm f/2.8IS, and my wife's friend said to me "Man, you could probably see in my bedroom window with that thing".

I said "What do you mean "probably"?"
