Today someone told me "That's one cannon of a lens! Is it loaded?"

Did you shoot him/her?
(In a photographic way of course)

today, sitting in the lobby of the hotel in staying in right now with a 1Ds Mark II and 24-70L...some guy walks up and says, "what are you taking photos of?"

i said "nothing right now, im just relaxing, i was shooting some skiing action earlier"

he said "people aren't skiing through the halls..."

i said... "yeah, on the mountain they are..."

and he laughed and as he was walkign away he said 'you sick bastard'

good thing i can control my anger

On a shoot with some friends and a lass asks the question; "Are you all professional photographers?" We just smiled. :)

Questioner: How many megapixels

my response: eight

Questioner: I have a 12 megapixel point and shoot so it must take better pictures than that big heavy thing.

my response: rolled eyes

I really wonder why people actually think that more megapixel = better pictures.

Thanks -
Justin

I really wonder why people actually think that more megapixel = better pictures.

Commercials and print ads, people just assume there's a huge jump between 11 and 12 megapixels, as if it were the difference between 1 and 2 megapixels, not realizing that the difference becomes exponentially smaller. So, since ads always emphasize "12 MEGAPIXELS!!!", people assume it's the only thing that matters. :(

As long as I am not getting paid to shoot pictures, I am not a professional. Period. :)

Profesionalism is nothing to do with money its to do with attitude. I would have said yes and you may end up with a paying customer.

Put your camera away. You're not allowed to use that here.

i've done that before, I was taking macro pics at a local garden and when they asked me what magazine I was shooting for and I said "sports illustrated" the looks on peoples faces sometimes are better than any verbal response they could give.
