I don't even remember what he looks like anyway, and it doesn't really bother me anymore. I've tried the silent treatment, but it just gets annoying at that time.

Now, bodily functions talk... leave that for thanksgiving :)

A funny thing happened to me at one of my daughter's soccer games. I was shooting the game with my XTi and my 70-200 F4 L and at half time another parent came over with a 20D with a kit lens I believe and we started talking he asked to see my camera so I let him look at my camera for a bit then I did the same. The first thing I did was look at the back of the camera to see the settings ( I found out in that the 20D has the settings on top and the back screen is for viewing the pictures only, not like my XTI which does both on the back screen ) anyway he instantly said that it was a real camera and you have to look through the viewfinder to take a picture. I took a deep breath and held my tongue, I turned the camera up looked at the top saw the green box selected and handed the camera back to him said "nice camera" and walked away shaking my head.

What would you guys do in my case?

You: "Sorry, you seem to have mistaken me for somebody else"
Him: "Uh?"
You: "Yes, you seem to think I'm someone who actually gives a %&*£"

ROTFLOL! that is pretty funny! on my 40D there is an 'info' button (I believe thats the one) which will display on the back screen basically the same info that is displayed on the back of the rebel series. it's pretty funny that he would demean your camera while shooting in green box hahhahahaha. maybe 'sad' would be a better word for it. likely he was just having some lens envy hahaha

That's not nice. So, 40D with LiveView is not a real camera?

Nice respond. Should keep that in mind.

Got lots of comments today when I was photographing a big science competition at school today.
---
Random teen: Hey look! It's CP24! (CP24 is a big news station in Toronto)
---
*Me taking out my 70-200*
Classmate: Whoa? What is that thing?
Me: It's a rocket launcher!
---
Funniest comment I got today was from my homeroom teacher who has a 40D+28-135. For the event I decided to use the school's yearbook camera (Nikon D80+18-70) slung over my shoulder for wider angle shots with my 50D+70-200 around my neck.

Teacher:*pointing to Nikon over my shoulder* Is that yours or the school's?
Me: It's the school's camera
Teacher: Did you drop it yet?
Me: (Laughing) No, not yet
---
Also got tons of the usual "is it digital?" and "how much did it cost?", to which I replied "yes" and "umm, a lot? I really shouldn't say". I find it really annoying though when people ask me how much my equipment is, especially since they don't really need to know anyway

I used to think, of course it's digital! But then a couple of weekends ago I saw a guy at my son's little league game with a film 1D body & an old 300mm f/2.8 firing away like I do with digital.

I shot about 800 pics the last time I went to a baseball game. Even with 36 shots per roll, I'd have been changing rolls every 8 minutes for 3 hours.

When you're shooting film you think more. Every time you push the button it costs you $1 (or whatever).

Yeah and I saw this guy fire off 3 or 4 shots at the sky to keep his place on the roll.

If i got a good income from the shooting, I'd rather waste 3-4 shots rather than miss a good shot or ruin a shot
