There's a group of fruit bats that live there, and they spend most of the day hanging around in the trees and squabbling. I'm there with a 40D, with a Tammy 70-200 f2.8 and a 2x teleconverter, snapping away in burst mode. Some other people see me and start looking to see what I am shooting. The spot the bats and out come about a dozen piddly little point and shoots. One of the ladies there (with her partner) takes a photo, and she must have shown it to her partner (I didn't see, because I was looking through the viewfinder). I here her say, "Oh, that's a nice pic." Then, almost muttering under her breath, she added, "Not as nice as his, though." I immediately thought of this thread, and I had to try very hard not to laugh. I couldn't stop the self-satisfied smirk though. Luckily she didn't see.

Yesterday on my way home from work I ran into a guy,two models and what I think was the MUA; he was shooting with a XXd, a 17-55 and the 430ex (me nerdy? noooo...), the whole setup looked like a PFT shoot to me. Anyway, the photographer asked the supposed MUA to hold a big reflector screen to which she replied with a miffed voice "Do you want ME to hold it? ME??" and then she frowned. I had to turn away to hide my laughter... IT Consultant by trade, photographer by heart
