you probably still could - at 22mm it's reduced to a small cluster of pixels though - right?

They might have been 5 pixels high but im sure you would still have seen them!

The other day, when shooting at bicycle race, two guys approached me: "Are you a journalist?"
Holding camera (with white L and flash unit attached): "No... I'm a photographer."

I guess it wasn't obvious... :)

I got stopped a lot tonight about if I was working for the local tv news station, can't blame the, I was going around with three flashes, a pair of light stands, and a boom mic mounted on the side of the 5d mkII. Wonder if there's a way to do broadcasting with the 5d...

last night at a party I started talking with a guy who owns a Ferrari 348. I asked if I could use it for a photoshoot some day and he say: "sure you can. If you can handle a camera like that (5D + 28-70L + flash), you sure as hell can handle my Ferrari". The guy probably doesn't know I don't have a driving licence yet

Considering that it's a whole lot cheaper than even the least capable broadcast quality cameras on the market today, I'm sure the TV news business will be considering that possibility once they find out about it. Quality and accuracy in reporting has pretty much disappeared from that business these days, only the quest to to things as cheaply as possible is left.
Hell, they'll probably look at the 500D! So what if the 20fps rate isn't quite broadcast standard? The stuttering will look pretty much like the crap from YouTube that most of the news programs use on a regular basis these days anyhow.

I was at the Susan G Komen Global Race For The Cure yesterday in Washington DC and I kept getting looks but no comments. I had my gripped 20D with 85mm f/1.8 and my 5D MK II with 70-200mm F/2.8 then this guy from the staff walks up and asks if I was with the media. He looked at me real weird when I told him no. LOL

Was showing some friends my new 5DII with 24-105/4 zoom. One of them said the classic: "I bet you can take good pictures with that!".

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

at the wedding I was shooting yesterday I got:

"Are you the professional photographer?" I replied: "yes"
"All that equipment looks heavy!" I replied: "yes it is"
"Could you take a picture of us?" I replied "yes, absolutely"
and there were several comments about my foamy bounce Card and flag (external link). like
"does that thing really make a difference?" the guy was shooting a rebel and looked genuinely interested so I took a moment to tell him more about it he said he was going to try making one.

I really can't recall any ridiculous comments from the day though.
