So I was setting up my SXI and 70-200 in Marin for a panorama of San francisco. an old man with a fairly nice camera himself, and asks me if it was the 300L. I told him that It was the 70-200 and he said that they were to heavy for his liking, then asked me about the IS on it. I told him I didn't have the IS version and he said "you bought the wrong lens boy." Without even thinking i replied back "Perhaps, but I'm young and strong, and have plenty of time to haul around a tripod and a heavy lens."

I felt a bit bad 5 minutes later when I realized exactly what I said.

Don't feel bad, he walked away thinking, "I was once a young, strong, smarta$$ myself, young man... And you think you've got TIME! Hah!!! The joke is on you boy... the joke is on you. None of us has much time, trust me..."

After handing off my 40D and 24-105 to a lady that offered to take a picture of my daughter and I at a charity event, she said "I can't believe how heavy this is." It's a good thing I didn't bring my 100-400.

- "Very good" is the enemy of "great." Sometimes we confuse the two.

Not a rediculous comment I revieved, but heard... Was out to dinner with the wife tonight and at the table next to be was a bunch of girls taking shots of each other with a P&S. Well one of the girls was chimping her shot and said "how do you make the shot un-blurry after you take it". Took every ounce of effort I had not to bust out laughing.

I saw a bunch of girls doing that when I was in Fiji last week, so I went over and offered to take a photo of them all together on their camera. It's nice to be nice :)

Its also very smart to not offer to assist taking pictures of multiple hotties in front of the wife.

Yeah it was more for effect. I think that was one of the few in this thread that actually made me LOL.

I could make a thread of my own with just the things my family and coworkers ask sometimes, so Im sure it will go on for quite some time.

I FINALLY GET TO POST HERE! :D

Today I was playing a game of slow pitch softball with a group of friends. I was behind the catcher with my 70-200 f/4 trying to get a batter, ball and pitcher shot. Soon after I crouched down, I heard the opposing pitcher say to everyone:

"Hey, we got a radar gun now!!!"

I chuckled to myself and thought about this thread!!! :)
