And that my friends, was the punchline.

Someone here was out and about shooting with a 1D II or III a while ago in a tour, and the guide said to turn your flashes off, and the guy with the 1D decided to be smart and ask "Even mine?" The tour guide said "Yes even yours, and if you don't know how I'll show you how to turn it off!"

I would have handed mine over and said "Heck I've never figured out how to turn it ON. Here, you have a try." and watched them fumble. :P

I think it may have been in this thread that I read it, not sure though.

Hahaha, now that's hilarious.

And no Jim, she's not blonde. Would you happen to be by any chance?

Haha :p

I would love to see the results from that!

I was tombstoning (jumping off rocks and cliffs into the sea) a few weeks ago, which is actually illegal as of a few years ago in the UK. Not with a big white lens, but with my 24-105. And i got: "you're not going to rat us out to the police are ya?".

I thought it was pretty funny. Some people instantly think that you're getting paid to walk around with a camera bigger than a point and shoot :)

Why would you jump off a cliff and into the sea with your 24-105? Have you no respect for the lens?

Good thing I don't have to worry about that, I'd like to see my girlfriend TRY to get my camera into "green box" mode! :p

Even if it did have one, she's too scared of even touching my gear anyway - doesn't want to break it :p

That's only because she's still a girlfriend... Marry her and see how quickly her interest in your gear changes!

Yeah, but generally only to the point of asking how much it cost so she can determine equivalency in jewelry, shoes or furniture.

Yes, but jewelry, shoes and furniture all benefit you too. You just can't see that connection so easily.

Jewelry makes her feel beautiful.
Shoes make her feel sexy.
And furntire gives you someplace to do something about the above.

That said, I want more camera gear.

I've never understood that... Why is it shoes make a woman feel sexy?

Nevermind... We'll get way OT with that question. Unless of course one of you ladies can explain how your shoes made you feel sexy while you were wielding a nice big Lense and received comments while doing so...
