Anyway we better hope someone posts a witty on-topic comment otherwise we might as well rename this: "Post the most ridiculous places you take your camera".

OK, I know I'm not the only one who is wondering, although I may be the only one who asks... But, Why did you have your camera with you at the Dentist's Office?

well... I'll be different. I wasn't wondering. LOL I have had a few time where I missed some awesome PJ stuff because I 'thought there wasn't a reason to lug my gear with me' well... after a few really good shots, I decided that it was time to make it a habit to carry the camera and at least a walk around lens wherever I go.

Nah not this time. They know when I do anyway and they get a bit stressed over it so instead I just drink some water and chew some gum just before I go in. ;)

Just don't eat Oreos before you go in.:D

I carry my camera everytime I go somewhere too. It's always in the car. Oh, this fits in this thread.
People always ask why I'm taking my camera to the gas station.
I tell them, because the one time I dont have it....aliens are going to come down, steal some cigarettes and gas, punch an old woman, run over some stuff. Drink the gas, light the cigarettes, blow up and I wont have my camera...like THAT will ever happen again.

This all reminds me of a ridiculous comment I received WITHOUT a big lens on.

I showed up at a friend's house for a little bbq/kickback without any of my gear, and before even saying hello, one of my buddy's says "hey dude you feeling alright? where's your camera?? "

That is EXACTLY why I carry my camera everywhere.

I left to take my daughter home on evening and didn't take my camera. Then we came across a tree on fire at my old high school while we where driving by. We stopped to watch and I cursed myself for not bringing my camera.

tbh, the only reason you bring your camera everywhere is because otherwise your duckies will fire you as their photographer :p

It's true, they are very demanding models.

I smell a "Diva Ducky" shoot. A bowl of all-green M&Ms upended because of a stray brown one, Dasani bottles hurled at heads because the rider called for Evian...

Went to my kid's swim meet today and was taking shots with my 40d/70-200 2.8IS. The Mom sitting next to me says "Can you see their nose hairs with that?"

You should have swung the camera around and go "Wow! That kids got tons! oh wait, it's you."

I was shooting youth league baseball this weekend and probably had 50lbs of gear strapped on my body. I was running around to different positions to get as many shots as possible and boy did I get comments. A kid said "you look like the terminator, but with cameras". The ump goes "your running around more than the kids" and one parent noted that I looked like him when he was in the marines with the 300 as a "rifle" and the 70-200 as the "sidearm". lol
