I use a Rocket Blower.

Anything other than blowers or Canon service cleaning will void you warrenty.

Can you document this? My manuals only recommend not using canned air or blower brushes. Canon would be hard put to invalidate a warranty without some evidence of the method of cleaning used, and a properly-done cleaning won't leave any signs (aside from an absence of dirt) while even a blower can be misused in such a manner as to damage the camera (thereby voiding the warranty).

i just did this on my 30D. i'd cover my shutter with the cover. then i selected the cleaning mode on my menu. then i take my rocket blower and clean the sensor. you then power off the camera and it will reset back to nomal shooting mode.

Yes. I'm well aware of how to use a blower to clean sensors. I was questioning the "void the warranty" statement which I highlighted in red.

oops... sorry bought that. it does say this straight out of the 30D manual. "Use a rubber blower to carefully blow away any dust, etc.., on the surface of the image sensor."

"Use a blower not attached with a brush. A brush can scratch the sensor."

this is off page 42. of the 30D manual. http://alpha03u.c-wss.com …WWUCA900&menu=MA&TRF=MAIN (external link)

Doesn't say anything about voiding the warranty though does it? You can damage the sensor screen with an improperly wielded blower as well, as I noted.

Well, the reason I said it in the first place, was because I've done personal research before on cleaning methods, just to figure out what to buy, what works, and what's cheap (as I do with most any product I buy).

I heard from several people that use other than a blower or Canon servicing will technically void you warrenty. I think I even read it on a website that told what different camera companies allowed under warrenty, and how they did their servicing.

BUT you are correct, there's probably not much any way for Canon Service Centers to figure out you used something other than a blower, like the Copperhill Kits.

For me, a blower has been just fine.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, you might even want to give Canon Tech Support a call to find out if I'm correct...it would be very very worth a shot just to call and find out straight from them.
