Dissapointing results with Sigma 15mm fisheye

I picked up a Sigma 15mm DG fisheye for my XT and had some dissapointing results. I'm a novice with SLRs so i started with Av, AWB, autofocus on the lens, and closed the aperture down for maximum depth of field. The result, nothing in focus. The only explanation i can think of is i mistakenly drove the focus ring in AF mode with the camera off, but no more than a few degrees. Dont worry that wont happen again.

Both are in focus. The first one is focused in the center and the bottom one is focused on the corner of the fountain. But I don't believe a Fisheye even really works on a XT or anything but a Full Frame camera because of the crop factor which would take away most of the fishy part of a fish eye.

When using this thing, try using only one focus sensor instead of all of them. I would probably start with the middle one. You might have better luck this way.

With that much light, and a very generious depth of field for that lens, I would just turn the autofocus off.

Just go to Av mode, set the aperture to F11, and focus at about 1.5 meters and just leave it there. That should get about everything in focus from about 3/4 of a meter to infinity (I am just guestimating on DOF, but this should be close).

Keep an eye on the shutter speed and do not let it drop below 1/20 secord (or so). Crank the ISO up if necessary.

the second one is easier to see that the cornor is in focus

you opened it all the way up, not closed it down. your exif says 1/250 at f/2.8

so anyway, do what lon says

Yup, that looks exactly like it should at f/2.8

I have the same lens and it focuses nicely...
Use something between f8/-f/16 and see....

What did u focus on when u where shooting these 2 ...
