Hi everyone! I just had my very first newborn photography session on Saturday and boy did it start off rough! I had it in my mind that i can mimick these awesome nude newborn abstract photos i've seen on the web that have a dramatic black background, you know, the ones with just the feet within the moms hand, the ones with just the moms arms in the picture holding the baby against a solid black background. That kinda stuff. BOY WAS I UNPREPARED. I couldnt mimick them to the way i visioned it at the time of my shoot. The baby was very figidy so she kept moving all around. I was trying to position her with her legs tucked within while on her tummy....she shoved her legs out & wailed, I tried laying her on her stomach...she peed on my backdrop! Funny thing too was that in the beggining i was just getting alot of popeye one eyed photos of her wiggling everywhere! I was about to go in a corner and cry for two reasons....My photos were coming out horrible....and this is what my future goal is...to have a photography business catering to maternity shoots and newborns! I felt myself kinda panic but managed to put it underwraps and focus. I figured i'll just get what i can and if it sucks, then i'll give her money back and print out the decent ones for her time. All in all.....i ended up getting some shots that i think she'll be happy with. They arent what i had in mind as for the posing, but they acceptable ( i think ). Of course i will be having to put in some time in the post processing department as far as WB and spot removing goes (darm dust on the Censor), but it is a lesson learned. Oh...did i mention she peed on 2 diffent backdrops a total of 3 times. Yup, im a slow learner...but non the less.....a learner. I'll post a few of my unedited pics for you guys to see. Any critique will be appreciated. Especially tips on how to acheive the look i had in mind! Thanks for letting me share my fustration!!!!
