EF 15 f/2.8 Fisheye on a 1D MkI

I decided I wanted something a little wider than my EF 17-35 f/2.8L, so I chose to go with Canon's EF 15 f/2.8 . It's a nice little lens and it brings a whole new prespective to things. It does have a noisy autofocus motor and can be slow at times. When the focus is right on, the photo can be pretty sharp... but at f/2.8, it can be a little soft.

Its a really fun lens, I love mine

Yeah... it is fun so far. I bet it would be even more fun on a FF body...

Using DxO Optics Pro or distortion correction plug-ins for CS2, you can correct the disortion and get a true 16mm FOV image as opposed to the 19mm FOV you'd traditionally get with a 15mm lens on a 1.3x crop body.

I loved this lens, although i used it on a 10D. It was noisy, but the scariest thing was the pretruding front element since nothing can protect it.

Aside from that, this lens rules!

I might give DxO a try sometime in the future, but I just got this lens and I'm having fun playing with it for now. The distortion just gives a different perspective on things... albeit not always a favorable one.

I'm a little concerned about that too.

No doubt the inherent distortion of this lens is its main appeal, but not many people actually realize that the fisheye can now double as the ultimate WA lens they've been looking for. When I finally do get around to picking up this lens (recently had to cancel my order on this one), I'll have a piece of mind knowing that it'll be that cute fun little fishy lens and a true ultra-WA lens on my 1D.
