Well, dragged oneself out of bed unusually early for a Saturday morning for a gathering of local POTN'ers out for a day's shooting. Sadly the weatherman's crystal ball is broken and the forecasted fog and fine day didn't happen. Still, got to meet up with a great bunch of folks all hell-bent on having a good time. Not much postable by yours truly but here's something at least. :)

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
TF posting: here :-)

Maybe we should have taken the hint? Never mind, we contributed to Auckland Camera's bottom line if nothing else!

From bastion point, with the 70-200 + 1.4TC @ 98mm (70x1.4)

Nice guys, nice colors. Scott, love the crop!

Thanks, there was only black below and grey above so decided to only keep the interesting bits.

John, I love the colour in yours!

I learned a little something from all my reading -- how to get a little warmer colours from sunrise and sunset pics -- I use shade or cloudy white balance instead of AWB... this way I don't have to saturate or tweak colours as much as I used to.

EDIT: Scott -- that's a nice pic -- I really can't wait to get my hands on a 10-20mm!!!

Here's my best effort so far from the morning:

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v31/Moppie/monument.jpg

I spent most of the sunrise looking the other way at the city, which I then shot at ISO1600 after forgetting to change it from the night before :(
