with a canon rebel and efs 17-55mm lens what should i set the camera to???
aperture:
shutter:
iso:
etc:

alot of that depends on the cam and more specs on the lens


40d.. 75-300mm, 18-55is, 50mm 1.8F, 28-135is

If you have the time..
Buy the 50mm 1.8

It's the fastest cheapest investment for low light photography you can get!
Just beware the Depth of Field is thin @ F1.8

I've recently bought the 50mm f/1.8 and it is fantastic! Listen to Tdragone :D

I'm just a beginner, but I'd suggest ISO 800 (if it's fairly dark; 1600 if it's really dark (beware of grain, though!)) and f/4.

As for the shutter speed, you're going to have to do some trial-and-error work there. I'd suggest starting at 1/125 and working your way up or down from there.
