hmm maybe i should trade my 17-85 IS USM for the 17-55 IS USM 2.8! Great shots!!

since this lense is currently my one and only lens.. i love it very much. going to take wify and our mini doxie chloe to monterey/ carmel during labor's day... so going to snap up a lot of photos... hehe :D

Go for it...

There are some lenses you can really learn to love, even though you own many others. The 17-55 is the ultimate standard zoom for EF-S cameras.. you can't go wrong with it :)

Rui nice results _ out of curiosity what is the exposure data in your very first posted image in this thread. Looks to be slight vignetting or either light fall off in the corners on my calibrated monitor.

yup yup.. i was getting vignetting on the corners of my shots. so in some of my shots, i just cropped around that. for the beach shot, i didn't crop the upper right and lower right part out.

1/250, f2.8 @ 31mm. probably happened because i was in portrait style accidently. :(
