I read Bob once say they last a heck of a long time.

I've been using mine for a few years. That qualifies as a heck of a long time.

I've never heard an official figure but I do now carry a spare battery for it.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

That should just about do it then, they sound like a remote type of device for battery use. Thanks.

I have like 4-5 spare batteries for mine but it has actually gone through several photographers so far and has not needed a replacement once. Safe to say battery life on the device is rather exceptional. :)

Sounds like the spare batteries will die from shelf life fatique before the one in use actually goes down. "A device that causes batteries to last longer" from the strange but true museum. :)

I've heard there good for around 1500 shots but I've more than doubled that and still on my first battery. Only had the ST-E2 about 2 months though. Still it seems not to be much of a problem and shouldn't put anyone of purchacing the ST-E2.

I use mine a lot, have had the ST-E2 for about 2 years and have gone through two batteries now. My second 2CR5 just died last night so I'll have to go get another.

The minimum of 1500 shots per battery sounds conservative, probably at least 2500. I use mine with my 3 580EX's for portable studio and with one 580EX in the studio to trip the big lights. (Don't ask me why I do that in the studio, I hate cords and have been too lazy to go buy some pocket wizards.)

I bought mine second hand and have had it less than a year and have changed batteries twice already. Of course I shoot about 800+ at a given shoot and I shoot about 3 times a week. The new batteries have lasted about 4 months though on that average. Not bad at all in my eyes

I killed a battery in 4 months, by wearing it down.
I would guestimate that it was on and working for 20-30 hours of constant use.
I shut it off, if it isnt going to be used for 5 minutes.:p
I try not to be cheap, just efficient. ;)

HEY! HO!
