Nice, the second picture reminds me of your current avatar.

No...I did it all in 16-bit. There was a little bit of fiddling, but probably no more than about 10 minutes total. The main thing was bringing up the detail in the interior surfaces which, as you can tell, were pretty dark.

Ah-hah... bottom left pillar right by the exit... you missed a spot. But serious... try passing this one through HDRing... i have been BLOWN away by the results. Have you given it a stab before?

No, I haven't. I'll give it a stab. I also have a couple photos of the stained glass ceiling that was salvaged from the old City of Paris department store.

I would love to take a stab at it with your original RAW file. If you are game...

Sure. I'm in the middle of paying bills and doing some property management right now. Send your email address by PM or email me, and I'll take a stab at sending it later.

Nick:

I tried twice to email it, and both times I got an error saying my server had rejected it as being too large. It's roughly 16mb. RAW images from a 1Ds Mk II tend to be big.:o

If you have any thoughts on how to send it, I'm game.

Nice shots. My wife loves that store, and they don't even sell cameras.

belmondo - first thing to try is zipping it. a RAW file has a lot of "fluff" in it that comresses quite well. So try that first, see how small you can get it.
