Here's a collection of photos I took this summer while flying around the Eastern United States. It's tough to get a good storm, good light, and be around to see it all come together. I have been really lucky so far this summer. Let me know what you think.

Please ignore some of the noise. The originals are nice and clean, but my pbase account does a terrible job at preserving gentle gradiants, hence the noise in the sky in #3, and a little shadow noise in the rest.
Thanks for any comments.

Cool shots. Once you start squeezing things down to fit...I don't know that any site does a good job. I really like the colors in the first one...but for visual impact that 3rd one makes quite a statement. Anvils all over the place!

Fantastic shots Dave. The rich blue, and the fact that you managed to keep so much cloud detail, make the second my favorite. I like them all though.

I love flying around thunderstorms but you just can't get good photos from the back of the plane. These are incredible! Wish they'd let me sit up front one of these days! :)

Beautiful!

Thanks for the comments.

HrcRacing,

Glad you liked #2. That's my favorite also. Red and pink sunset photos are always crowd pleasers, but #2 has subtle details that make it one of my favorite photos.

Wow the first shot has some mood to it. Fiery sky.
