Ok all you guys who were at the Bristol Faire last Saturday - I saw you swarming around these colorful creatures like papparazzi on Oscar night! I know you got better shots than me. Big H and Big John have already posted a few, but I haven't seen any from cmM or drparker yet. Let's see some more!

Here's a few of mine that I liked.

Nice. This is some kind of Fantasy event?

Thanks, Rene'. We had a POTN get-together at the Bristol, Wisconsin Renaissance Faire last Saturday. Here's their website (external link).

The Fantastikals don't speak and mostly interact with young children. Their movements and expressions are interesting, to say the least. I got some better shots last year, they're on this page of my website (external link), if you're interested.

Curtis, these are nice but looks like your compatriots don't want to compete with such excellence! :-)

Thanks, Dwight. Plenty of interesting people to shoot at this Faire, but finding a decent background is a challenge, especially when it's crowded.

If the compatriots don't ante-up here, I'll just embarrass them. I got shots of them all chimping! ;)

Curtis N,
I am blown away with your and eveyone elses images. I had so much fun shooting at the fair, I am tempted to go back before they close for the season.

Here are my shots of the blue fairy, I wish I could have blurred the background more. I only had the Canon 24-105mm on my 20D that day.

I am slowly getting the hang of posting to this forum. (Very slowly)

I have a few more "Fantastikals", but I always thought of them as wood nymphs. It is hard to get a bad shot of these creatures. They are so good at striking alluring poses.
I have shots from last years Ren Faire, with the same nymphs in basically the same poses. But I don't care, I still like to shot them.

Aaron,
Thanks for contributing. Those are superb!
I checked out your fotki gallery from the day. Outstanding! You caught some great expressions. I was getting posed shots all day, I almost forgot how much fun candids can be.

... and you absolutely have to post that shot of the fire breather. It deserves its own thread!

Thanks Curt,
I usualy shoot candids and don't interact with the subject unless they catch me shooting them. I tend to get natural poses with out the subject feeling selfconscious.

I really like the directness and warmth of your "posed" shots.

I wish I had the guts to approach total strangers and ask them to pose for me, (fear of rejection).

Here is the "Fire Breather" shot.

I need to spend some time reading the FAQ and learn how to start new threads. Is there a Spellchecker on this thing?

Just click on the section you want (i.e. "People"), and near the upper left corner of the window is a button called "New Topic".

Is there a Spellchecker on this thing?

Nope.
