Ah yes. But - the XT is limited in many areas compared to the D80, and I'm sure Nikon and resellers will push those facts. The XT is now 2 years old and is starting to show its age imho. If Canon sits on its arse, it'll lose market share - I guarantee it.

I agree a new 10MP (or 12MP?) Rebel is needed, if for nothing else it needs to gain the larger rear LCD which I'm sure would be a consumer boon. It would be nice if it gained the 9pt AF as well. Although I'm not sure it needs to be smaller by going SD from CF media. The bugger is already a bit small IMO.
As for upgrading the 30D, how about adding the same 10MP sensor we can hope for in the next Rebel, and simply keep the cost down by reusing the same shell and call it the 33D or 30D mark II.
Aside from that the D80 doesn't really impress me. If I owned a D70 I'd be ticked at having to dump all my CF media, although the added grip is a plus for once. The D200 is really the Camera hurting Canon sales IMO. It's a pro-build body complete with weather sealing, Nikon ergonomics, and custom functions out the yang. All for about the same price as a 30D.
I know one buddy that was going to upgrade to a 30D but he switched system for the D200, it didn't hurt he was going to buy some newer glass at the time anyhow.
