After reading the thread in the EOS section announcing the Nikon D80, I found a link from a fellow explaining sensor size (full frame, DX, etc). Rather interesting.

http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/dx.htm (external link)

Makes me rethink what I "want" in my next camera...

Lots of megapixels, full-frame, slower??, more expensive??, uses more battery?? or...
Lots of megapixels, DX, faster, less $$, more energy economical, etc. Hmmmm.

He has intersting theories. I think he also thinks shooting in RAW is not necessary as well.
I take all he writes with a grain of salt.

Well, I'm certainly convinced in shooting RAW. I'll need more info and thoughts and the sensor size business.

Maybe he was only dropped on the left side of his head.:p

Sensor size is of little importance until you at least double it. Read this article written by Michael Reichmann from the Luminous Landscape. It covers the topic very well.

Good luck.

Informative. Looks like I'll need to wait for a 16mp (the two-stop rule) model. Although, why stop there? The Hasselblad H2D-39 is one sweet camera. Mortgage the house for that one.
