I have my canon G1 exactly four hours and the LCD
is now reflecting nothing -just colours of pastel
shades. No images. No menus. I am absolutely
reluctant to believe that something that cost so
much could have such a flaw -
any help greatly appreciated

I just got my G1 a few days ago and the same thing happened after acouple of hours of use. It basically stopped working. I doesn't seem to be a battery problem. Let me know if you find the solution.

Have you guys with the 'blank' screens fitted the camera with the Microdrives?

If so, try with the CF card and see if things are back to normal?
