theres not going to be much of a height difference in landscape mode, if it filts at all. I'd look into custom brackets

Can't answer your question about either of the Stroboframe flips you mentioned but I do know that the Stoboframe Pro-L brackets will work with the 1DmkII. The Pro-L will require an anti-twist plate (300-BE1), though.

Take this thread food for thought.

I would definitely call the store before ordering it. You are doing the right thing, research first. Some brackets require you buy the bracket and plates, etc.

I have the Stroboframe camera flip. It works well on my 20D without a grip, but on the taller 1D series cameras, the sync cord end on the hotshoe will interfere with the bracket in vertical orientation. The flash flip models from Stroboframe will probably work ok, but there are better brackets out there. I'd follow coreypolis' advice.

Hi there,
I bought the Stroboframe Camera Flip and discovered that it needed to be extended sideways. If you have access to a Bridgeport you can make this Bracket extension. My camera gear is a Digital Rebel w/battery pack and off camera flash cord. It measures 7" high. You will have to measure the Ids Mark II for height including off camera flash cord. The camera flip bracket is 1/4" X 3/4" thick.
I hope this is of some help to you.

I have a newer version than that and mine works fine for the 5D but you have an extender for the hotshoe mount and flash mount you need to slightly extend it to clear the top of the camera but in the sideways position it fits fine cause it's pointing away.
