Lens Hood Showing up in Pictures?

Hello everyone!

I am having trouble with my lens hood showing up in all of my pictures. I bought the lens off ebay which is probably why it does this. Below is an example of what I am talking about. If I zoom out then it eliminates the problem but then lose some field of vision on the object being taken.

Suggestions?

Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I do this.
Doctor: Then don't do that.

Remove the hood and reseat it, it may not be seated properly, if it is crossthreaded it may have not gone all the way down and hence the view. Just hope that if it is cross threaded you have not damaged the thread. It should screw in very smoothly.

Removing any filters installed before or after the hood may help, looks like the hood is designed for a lens with less wide angle.

Was the hood specifically designed for your camera?

I assume you mean you bought the lens hood, not the lens?

Whatever, the answer must be obvious to you: if you are getting vignetting on all your photos then clearly the hood does not suit whatever camera or lens or filters to which it is attached.

So either get the right lens hood or do a bit of trimming of the (presumably cheap) one you got off E-bay.
