The theme for Macro Challenge #9 is “METALS”. Pick a subject and get as close to it as you can and make your image say, METAL!!!
1st Place Prize - Bragging rights that you won the "MACRO METALS CONTEST NUMBER NINE!!!"
Yay! not only that! but you get to improve your photo taking skills and challenge your creativity 
Contest's arent just about winning it's about giving it your 'absolute best'.
Remember, everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in. You don't need to be an expert or have a fancy camera. This is all about having fun and, through that, getting better at photography. If you have never tried macro or are new and would like some pointers, please PM me and I'll be happy to help you. 
So get out there, get creative and get close. 
We're all waiting to see what you come up with.
You may submit up to two photos for this competition.

RULES
1) The contest will run for approximately 2 weeks ending on Monday the 28th of August, 2006 at 8:00PM GMT.
2) You may submit up to two pictures, and may change these up until the time that the competition ends.
3) Post processing - nothing that substantially changes the original composition of the image.
4) Photos must be no larger than 800 pixels at the longest dimension and a maximum of 200k.
5) No framing of pictures, text or copyright notices.
6) The competition is a learning experience, so please where possible, take photos especially for this contest.
7) At the end of the competition, I will start a separate thread to seek the votes of forum members over a 1 week period.
The person/image with the most votes will be declared the winner.
Please ensure that you have read the above fully and understand the rules prior to submitting.
Submitting your photo:
* SEND PHOTOS TO: potnmacrocontest at gmail dot com
* Please allow up to 48 hours (longer during weekends) for your photo to post. If it is not posted within this time frame, please send me a note via this forum.
* TITLE All e-mails "MACRO-METAL". If the e-mail subject is not titled as such, I will not open the attachment, and you will not be entered into the contest. 
* Please submit photos in the format "username_0x.jpg", where x is the number of the submission (i.e. 1 or 2).
* Please submit a TITLE with your picture, along with the DATE it was taken. In addition, please include what your subject is.
* If needed, please give a brief explanation to emphasise how this photo meets the theme, MACRO METAL.

Commenting on the photos in this competition is highly encouraged, however:
* If the photo has an asterisk next to the title, please wait until after the challenge is closed to comment on it.
