So sorry to read of your loss. I didn't know Bumpus but I do know how fast they become part of the family and worm their way into your heart. It sounds like Bumpus was given a dignified end - and that is good.

That was beautifully written. The picture surely encapsulates her life too. What a great shot of a handsome pet.

They give us love for no other reason than they love us and even if they do not get it back, they love us. Doc Klepper in the USA

I know how you feel and have been there myself not long ago. It sure seems as our dogs are harder to handle than alot of our other loses. They are there unconditionally for use and we love them more than most people. Your family here grieves with you. May Bumpus rest in peace. 7D MKII ■ 10-22 ■ 15-85 ■ 28-135 ■ Σ 50-150 ■ 70-200 f4L ■ 100-400L ■ 580EX II

I've been in the same situation more times than I care to think about. The worst one for me was when I had to have a 16-year old mutt put to sleep. I was torn up inside for a long time after that. I wrote this story My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Its very hard to know the right time, but if you truly love them, its a decision that has to be made. Regards, Trevor

I'll miss her in a big way. She passed very peacefully, soaking wet with the salt water, and smelling of the ocean, salt and "damp",.. just as a real dog should smell. I'm sure she loved this. No doubt. You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
