Not sure how many people realize this, but if you charge paypal fees during a sale their seller protection does not cover you. Just an FYI.

it's in the t&c's that you're not allowed to levy a surcharge for using paypal as a payment method much in the same way retailers arent allowed to charge you extra for letting you pay by credit card despite the fact they incur charges for doing so.

in short the rule is, if you use paypal to accept payment for an item the fee's are your burden for receiving the payment not the buyers.

Well, all you have to do is change your price to add the paypal fee.... Don't sell the 1DsMK II for $100... sell it for $103 :)

Well duh, you're not supposed to be charging paypal fees to the buyer. Thats why whenever someone I'm trying to buy something from tries to tell me to pay the fees I just forward his messages to paypal and he gets in trouble. =)

According to the UK Paypal T&Cs:

"You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as payment on eBay.co.uk."

Note that the restriction only applies to sales on ebay. Is it different for Paypal in the US?
