As the title suggests, I just don't think I can afford to shell out 50 bucks for Canon's battery. I have this case of paranoia where I keep thinking the Canon battery is "tuned" to the Canon body which would make sense for the two to go together. How do I know Sterlingtek's battery won't overtime either A) Blow up B) Blow my Camera's circuitry up..and then proceed to burn my life's passion to dust... or ... yep that's pretty much the only disastrous situation I care about. I believe in their capacity and their durability...just their quality...

Oh, it would be nice if a few of you could post how long you've continously used the battery...and hopefully how well they work. 12 bucks a pop makes me drool.

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79584

people in that thread have been using them since last june at least.

the only thing canon do to make their batteries special is mark them up 5x the price.

Based on very positive feedback on here, I have two on order at the moment.

I'll let you know how they are as and when I've given them a run out...!

Sterlingtek from you POTN members' recommendations. I love mine. So cheap and last a whole shoot sometimes.

I've had no problems with Sterlingtek.....I ordered directly from them (via phone) and the shipping was $2 less than from their eBay store!

I ordered six of them for my 20D and got free shipping. They had a deal: 2 for $22 and ordered them off of their website. So far the 4 that I rotate through my grip have been working fine.

I ordered 3 last year. The order didn't show, so I notified them after about a month, and they had replacements to me in Canada within the week.

I can't tell you how long they last as I just cycle through my batteries as needed but it is at least as long as my Canon battery. I find no difference at all, (except obviously the exceptional price compared to Canon's)

got a few rattling around. No problems, and more power than my Canon ones. Oh, and one of my Canon batteries won't hold a charge much now anyway.

I have use this company several times over the past 12 months - excellant service. And all batteries -including ones for the Rebel XT - have worked great.

My next order will also be with Sterlingtek
