Excuse me for asking, but whats the difference and how do you embed?

Its appears quite easy to attach pics to this forum, but I see no other means of showing pics, what is embedding and how is it done?

Also how do so many other people on here manage to keep the good quality after having to reduce the picture to fit in a 800 x 800 box and reduce the file size to less than 100K?

I look forward to some answers, many thyanks in advance.

Embedding is when you host your images on a photo sharing service such as pbase, smugmug, etc. You then can imbed them using the img tags. Have a look at this thread by Tommy. It explains things pretty well.

You seem to understand attaching already so won't go into this one.

In order to get my photos under 100k limit I used save for web function which strips out the EXIF information and allows you to place with the compression amount in order to reach your target.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
