I've been going back and forth between this and the Timbuk2 Snoop.

Cool. I've seen timbuk 2, but not Snoop.

My alternates are a Maxpedition Colossus, and a LowePro ProMessenger 200. And...my nameis Dave. I am a bagaholic.

I do need a little bit larger Billingham! :)

Im leaning towards a billingham however the snoop would fit everything plus my laptop. Which I would only need to do when traveling for work. The billingham would work the other 80% of the time. Then I would need another bag for hiking/long travel. I don't think the billingham will be ideal for the tropics. Anyone that uses it for that feel free to chime in.

My friend Rob Skeoch has travelled all over the world with his.

His site is www.rangefinderstore.com (external link) I am a happy customer, who has been truly favoured to talk to Rob about photography. I bought both my BillyBags from him.

He is an incredible pro photographer.

Hi Dave,

I just picked up a like-new sage Billingham Hadley Large on eBay ... looks really nice and fits my larger lenses.

Please ... somebody stop me ... I keep getting more Billinghams! :D  ;)

I do wish it had a handle ... where is the "Hadley Large Pro" ?

-howard

p.s. I find more and more usages for that little Hadley Digital you talked me into ... great size for a lot of "little" things!

Get a Domke F1x, Domke Post Office Pad and Think Tank Shoulder Harness and you'll be set for life. Unless, of course, you get the 400 f/2.8 or larger lens, in which case you'll need a separate bag for that lens.

Thanks Jon!
I love my F3X
Notso my F2, which I got used...no handle; came with 4 chamber insert.
Both have Domke Postal Pads?

Buying new from Henry's I would have to mortgage my home.

What Strap are you using with your billingham pro. I was think the RS7 but would be hard to have two on the same shoulder.. Right now I just have the canon stock strap.

Like I said before I've been thinking of either the billingham hadley pro or the timbuk2 snoop messenger in a small or medium. Anything to sway me either way?

You're not a closet Billingham fan are you ... oh wait ... I have seen photos of your closet, and it is full of Domke's (and the best collection of carabiners I have ever seen)! :D  ;)

I have Billingham pads on each of my Billingham bag's straps. Essential! Or a Domke Postal Pad works very well, may be cheaper too depending on your market.

I have 2 widths. You need to match the width of your strap. Both my bags have the same width strap; I bought 2 pads, one each width, anticipating that my Hadley Pro (if I ever bought it ;) ) would have a wider strap. Should do research before I spend my money.

History--I didn't buy a pad when I bought my Hadley Digital. The strap slipped off the shoulder of my rain-proof coat. It's coated with teflon....I smashed a filter. Could have been a lot worse. I'm an old so-in-so; When I shot weddings I hung a small lens-changer bag off my right shoulder. It's an old habit. I've never dropped a camera bag before or since. Recommend you get a pad with your shoulder bag.

I really appreciate the Billingham bags, and Domke bags too. I am not worried about padding, but want to be able to shoot until it starts to rain pretty hard, and then start before it's really over. These bags let me do that. :)

And my Oly OMD is weatherproof, and it's wonderful!

I was asking how this would work with a cross body camera strap. I'm sure most of you are using camera straps on your camera?

I carry a bag cross body. Left side.
Camera sling cross body right side.

That's how I work now. Old days? Weddings. Large bag with redundant gear, as an island...small bag as a lens changer, slung cross body, right side. Camera on a strap in front. Difference now? sling straps on camera. Favorite? Peak designs. Favorite bags? Tie. Billy's or Domkes.

Peak Design on my Oly OMD+grip, and d300s+grip Wear it all day long with either camera.
I use two attachment points. Looking at the camera back, Left side strap connector. Oly-- strap attachment point on their grip. Nikon...same on left side...tripod socket on the grip using the BR connector. However , I don't use their carabiner. Love the Peak Design. Easy on, easy off. Stows so easily. Love their wrist strap too.
Took my Black Rapid off. For good. Used it for two years.

just a happy customer. I have one for each of my cameras. Like having two attachment points. Just a long strap :) It slides so easily, it works like a sling. Hangs like a sling, with lens pointed down. I know if either attachment fails, the camera drops. There have been long conversations about hanging Nikon full frame cameras from the tripod socket after an owner reported his base plate bent. I know many pros who do this with d3's and d4's. I just don't anymore.

Do you have any pictures of what that looks like on with hadley pro?

I was trying to see if anyone uses a Black Rapids Sport with the hadley pro and how it is for comfort. However I think that would look crazy walking around town with a hadley pro to be discrete then having a black rapid on as well. Looking for something more discrete I guess. What to most hadley pro users use?
