is this canteloupe ripe.... or is it too soon to harvest?

Oddly, enough you can tell when it is good when you smell it. Thats right, you have to get down and smell the sweetness of it.

Not ripe. The green on the fruit needs to be a little more golden.

thanks for the advice. I had read where you need to smell them, but my sinuses have been acting up... I was thinking it was too soon to pick (first time canteloupe grower)
