Studio Flash Triggers

Probably a dumb question, but when you purchase studio lighting (my first), do they come with a mechanism that triggers them from the camera. With my old film camera, I believe there was a sync receptacle. With my 20D .. I don't see such a recepticle.

They'll trigger from the E-TTL preflash on any EOS digital camera. Not nice at all, since it happens before the shutter opens.

Your 20D has a PC terminal. The easiest (or at least the cheapest) way to trigger strobes is with a PC cord from that terminal to one of the strobes. Let the other strobe(s) work as optical slaves.

It's on the left side of the camera (with it in the "taking a picture" position). Lift the bottom rubber flap closest to the front of the camera.
