here is 2 photos i took about 2 months ago with my 30D and 100mm f/2.8 macro

both shots are f/2.8. only minor PP done and some sharpening done in Photoshop using Unsharp mask

and yes he does squint a lot when you are taking his picture

in the second one i think i should have used the rules of thirds. what do you think?

I like the second one, though it might have worked better as a portrait shot instead of a landscape. The colors are good though, and I like the look on his face. :)
The first one is a bit out of focus, and it would be really nice if we could see his eyes. I tried a quick fix in Photoshop: Adjusted levels, did a bit of dodging. Still a bit dark though.
