Hey Guys

I did team/individual shots for a baseball team, just wondering how you guys go about organizing them together on an 8 x 10. Do you have the team as a 5 x 6.5 and the individual as a 3 x 4? How do you put them side by side? Background?

Any tips/hints/advice woudl be GREATLY appreciated.

Bryan

I used to work for a sport photography studio. We'd always have the team shot as a 5x7 and the individuals at 3x5's. However, we never put them side by side? So, I guess I'm a little confused as to what you're trying to accomplish. Are you creating a collage of all the images? If that's the case then maybe the individuals should be 2x3's instead, and keep the background really simple as to not distract from the pics themselves.
Hope that helps!! Good luck!

Thanks - actually what I am doing is instead of putting them in a matte with a 3 x 4 and 5 x 7 already cut out - i'm going to make an 8 x 10 with the team and individual photo then just put that in an 8 x 10 matte

When we shoot sports we use memory mates, an 8 x 10 carboard mat with cutouts for a 4 x6 indivual and a 5 x7 team photo.

You can get those at www.albumsinc.com (external link). And Mpix also has something along this line available with photoprocessing.

I found them but there is no price. What one do you guys use? How do you put the names of all the players in the team photo? The team name?

In that case I'd say a 2x3 individual would be about the right size. You'll have to show us when you have one done. I'm real interested in seeing the final product!! :)

Yeah actually what I ended up doing was a 5 x 6.5 and a 3 x 4 ... here is an example, wha do you guys think? I am thinking of getting rid of the sponsor name though.

That is really nice! I guess I thought you were wanting to put all the team individuals on with the team. Sorry. I'm a dork lately. That looks really nice. Ya know....you could even overlap the individual on the team photo b/c there's so much empty space on the team pic. Very well done though!!

Thanks E3! It was an idea I was playing around with for a while. By the way I got rid of hte sponsor name in the title so now it reads "2006 Port colborne Squirt Softball Team" so it cleans it up a bit. Now I just need to find a nice folder/matte that fits an 8" x 10", that DOESN'T cut it off. Does anyone have any suggestions?
