All were taken with the camera piggy backed on my Meade 8 inch using the 70-200 f/4 L. Each shot has three 2 minute exposures plus one 2 minute dark frame then stacked and processed only using PS5.0.

2080 LX3. It's quite old. Meade stated they would replace all the mirrors for less then $500 so I'm saving some cash.. ;)

Wow, amazing, astonomy is something I've always loved (hence the Pleiades nic) and you've done such a great job of joining it with photography!

Wow that sounds like a great deal. Compared with the cost of new one, I'd go for it. I've got a 5" EXT 125 and really want to try some astrophotography but just haven't had the time to get away from here. Have you tried a t-mount or just piggy back?

Semper Fi, my son is deployed now, his home base is Miramar.

I have not purchased a T-mount for the digital... yet. I have a T-mount for my A-1 and AE-1P. Did some prime focus work using slide film. Can't wait till I get one for this camera. Alot easier using digital since you can view for tracking and focus right away.

Never was stationed at Miramar, or any wing bases for that matter, just everywhere else. ;)

Everyone... thanks for the kind comments. :)

I agree...I love these kinds of shots, too. I've never looked through a telescope to see "out there," so shots like this really amaze me. By the way, being a Trek fan, did you catch the roast of William Shatner on Comedy Central last night? Pretty damn funny.
