Mostly because I haven't really had the time to go out and shoot wildlife
Work and life have been conspiring against me. It just seems easier to get out in the winter for me. Anyhow all of these images feature pretty crappy lighting
Oh well, you do the best you can with what you have...
This first group were taken this spring at some local ponds - all of them in the middle of the day

Even with fill-in flash it was hard to control the highlights in this Mute Swan image
These are some grab shots from a very overcast, dark day while I was visiting a friend in Michigan this summer. Not great photos and not spectacular birds, but they , along with the previous images, are about the only bird photos I've shot in the last 4 or 5 months. These are all handheld.
Red-headed Woodpecker - moderately cropped as he was a bit shy
