They're lovely, particularly the reflections in N0.1. Well done :D
Is this the first time you've seen them?

I've only seen these once in my life, years ago when I was in college. Gorgeous captures! I'm jealous!

Thanks for the nice comments. We have a small cabin about 200 miles NW of our home and if we're lucky we see them once or twice a summer. They tend to appear more often in the winter but it's too cold up there for me in the winter. Thanks again

Nice shots! I'm going on an Alaska cruise next week and planned to watch for the "Northern Lights". I wasn't aware they were so random or what time of year they were likely to show up. Thanks for giving me hope that I'll catch a glimpse, and maybe some shots.

Thanks Dan and Fritz.

Dan,
You are in for a incredible cruise. If the skies are clear you most likely will see Northern light's. Intensity of the lights are determined by the activity on the sun ,so sometimes they are better then others. Where my cabin is we are a little too south to see them on a regular basis. The fact that we could see these this well meant that up in Alaska they would have been breathtaking. You're going to have a hard time putting down your camera on this vacation. Have a great time!

I was also up north saturday night and took a few shots of the northern lights.
Sometimes in the morning if I am up before the sun I've seen them in the north here at home.
First one is 50mm @ f1.7, 10s
Second is 50mm @ f1.7, 30s

I know there is a website that shows where the Northern Lights can possibly be seen each night and how strong they will be. My dad has a link to it but I don't know it. Go google it maybe, if you're interested. lol :)

Awesome shots! I've also seen them once in my life.
