The autumn 2006 will be one hot season; after Sony-Minolta and Nikon, which launch general public numerical reflex cameras 10 mégapixels, it is with the turn of Gun to renovate its EOS 350D with a new version, baptized EOS 370D or Rebel Xti (according to countries') and which will be marketed in September.
Once more, the rumour will have been stronger than the secrecy. At three days of the official advertisement of its innovations of the autumn, Canon comes to be made cut the here under the foot by the Net surfers who, while seeking well, ended up unearthing the photographs and the characteristics of the new general public reflex camera of the mark.
In a few days, the successor of the 350D will thus officially be revealed. The 370D, alias Xti, will take again same construction overall, but in more cheap as regards the case, while crossing the bar of the 10 mégapixels.
The heart of the 370D will be new Cmos 10,1 Mpix, associated a processor Digic II.

How will the Canon range be redefined in the months to come?
- one can imagine that the sensor x1,6 perdure in the form of a 350D become 3500D and positioned at the price of Nikon D50;
- that the 30D finishes its career nicely, "badly sitted" between the 10 Mpix of the 370D and the large sensor of the 5D;
- but also that the very expensive 5D with sensor 24x36 goes down on the level from price from very aggressive Nikon D200, free to repair itself in EOS 50D...
The re-entry will be hot, but the weeks preceding Christmas will be it more still. Logic when one saity that progression of the market of the reflex cameras flirte with a figure which one had seldom known: more than 60%!
