this how much question is asked a lot...with the details you have given us we can't give you an answer...

who wants to buy it?
what is the purpose?
Does he want exclusive rights?
what size does he want?

There are a great number of answers you have to provide first...

Cheers,

That's what I was thinking. Sounds like your image will be use for an ad campaign or something. Congrats by the way!!! How exciting!!

Definately ask him if he wants exclusive rights to the image and what it's going to be used for. But a thousand or two doesn't sound like a bad offer.....Can you google anything on the net that could give you an idea of what to start the price at?

This made me question right away...he doesn't just like your image...he wants to be able to mainpulate a file that he likes and use it in anyway he sees fit. The fact that he knows what a RAW file is, suggests he knows something about photography...hopefully one of the big guns will chime in here and lend a hand but you need to know exactly what he wants from the image before you give him a price...

Cheers,

Care to give out any more details? Maybe not the price if you don't want to say, but what rights you gave him?
