The amount and quality of front and back blur is called bokeh.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

bokeh is the part of the picture, (front and back) that is NOT in focus.

DoF is the area IN focus, front and rear of the main subject.

Would be great if it was also explained correctly , right  ?

Both the links given by Hermeto clearly tell that bokeh is the quality of the out-of-focus areas ...
the quantity of it is referred to as depth-of-field (or rather, what is not within depth-of-field)

If you want to know good bokeh from bad, also look at this link: 50/1.8 ugly bokeh

Best regards,
Andy

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)

How do you actually pronounce "Bokeh". That is the question that has been troubling me for a long while.

depth of field is what creates bokeh ;)

it's the depth of said field which, if short enough turns background objects into bokeh.

Hey, that almost sounded smart

Mike

"boké"

"Bo" like in Bombadil and "ke" like in "kerry".
