You don't know that, but regardless, you have a more than capable camera.

It's nice that the price dropped, but it's very speculative to entertain the notion that it's due to the pending release of a replacement body. I think the 30D is way too new for that.....but, I've been wrong before.

i do but i don't expect that fast. Also, i didn't know about the 25% off for 5D from Dell AFTER i ordered with B&H. Otherwise, i would get 5D over 30D.

Oh and then choose Canon so the search becomes quicker, when you get in there.

Choose SanDisk too - some good prices on Extreme IIIs.

30 bucks is not really much of a price drop? The regular price is only 1194. How much was it when it first came out?

Well I mean eventually there will be a replacement, but i don't think that soon. Ultimately it comes down to what you need out of your camera.

It all adds up. That could be your shipping right there.

But it's hardly enough to lead to speculation of a new model replacing it. Sorry, that was my point. I agree, every penny counts

It dropped because the 400d has more mp's.

I would actually be kind of warry at a replacement to the 30D so soon. Would it be rushed and full of glitches? Possibly.

Now I would be excited if they did and probably buy one if it is a true upgrade to the 20D MKII camera but more MP is NOT what I need, I am running out of memory so fast.

I think it is just a reflection of the times. At one point dSLR's were in the $2000 range so eventually I think they will be around $1000 for a 30D class camera.

There's no need to rush. The 30D is capable of going up against the D200(albeit, it lacks a little feature wise compared to the D200).

Maybe they are scared of the Sony Junka (I mean Alpha)? Nah that's why there is the new Rebel XTi.

More MP and bigger screens are NOT what photography is about. Thats the consumerism that we can't avoid because more MP and bigger LCD means more power used which means less pictures taken. Less pictures taken per battery means bad news when you run out of battery life in the middle of the Rockey Mountains or somewhere remote. Just saying is all.

Well the D80 also was just released. In the MP wars, for consummers they can't have a camera being so low, even if its low priced. Now they have one that has 10MP's and it will be affordably priced. Heck the number have caught some ppl's eyes on this forum too.

I've noticed in my wish list that the psmay prices are the same as the regular prices now.

yeah, i checked and it looks like psmay is now deactivated. still there, but deactivated. also it looks like the price on the 5D has gone up by 100 bucks from psmay to psaug, so thats kind of funny, but its still lower than the normal price of $3200.

anyway, i love B&H. anyone else? ;)

I'm not all hyped for the 10mp on the 400D.

I'd much rather see the 30D replacement have weather sealing, the sensor clean tech., a faster fps rate like 7 or so.

Those pluses would be much more welcome then 10mp in my book.
