Hello all.

Anyone know the general timeframe for when canon will advertise their fall rebates? And any guess as to if it will be similar to last years? There's a 70-200 f2.8 IS and a 580EX flash with my name all over it and I don't know how much longer I can wait!!!!:p

I bet that it'll only be a $50 rebate on the 70-200...and you may not see that promotion for another 2 months. It'll be worth it if they run the triple rebates again this year (but then you'd have to buy multiple eligible lenses/camera bodies to take advantage of it).

When did they unveil the rebate last year? And with the previous triple rebate, if you got additional lenses did they get a discount as well? (I'll be getting a body, flash and 2 or 3 lenses)

Thanks

bannedPermanent ban

1599 right now at B&H is you search for PSAUG

or buy used, always a big savings.

A lens and flash now are better than 2 in the store :)

For the past two years, the Canon Double/Triple rebates started in mid October.

I can't wait that long! I guess I'll have to consider buying the lens before the end of the week, and again, it's Thursday and I'm ordering from B&H. I can't get out of this ridiculous cycle. :( Oh well. I still have other things to get later.

I am probably going to get the 70-200 f4, ordering tonight. I had wanted the IS version, but I won't be working until mid September. I will only use the lens outdoors for soccer for a while and Jon recommended I get the 1.4x extender that works well with the 70-200 if I need the further reach. I may still go ebay for it. Don't know. I can't wait for the triple rebates, but if they are as good as last year, I may just buy everything I need and hope I earn enough in the fall to pay for it all. I will be substitute teaching 3 days a week at one school and 2 days at another, so it's pretty much full time. I won't be on teh forum until the evenings and early morning now. But I can afford good glass and that's important.

Okay, just looked on ebay and the cost is more than if I order from B&H. So, I guess I'm ordering tonight.

Why does it have to cost so much......aaagghhhh ;) I hope the buying will slow down. I just bought a 10-20mm so hopefully after getting a flash i will pull over the spending wagon to the side of the road for awhile.

I am actually kinda mad lol.

I will finally have over $5,000 in my hands on Sept 11-12 (depending since labor day may delay the mail a day) and now all of a sudden the psmay and psaug products changed with the pssep code.... No more $1600 70-200 IS lens :( And no cheaper 5D goodness ughhhhh always my luck and I dont want to wait until rebates are announced to purchase my gear... Ahhh!! The agony lol.

But my bank may like the few dollars of interest accrued by then.

It's still there. Use PSAUG:

5d = $2949
7-2IS = $1599 (external link)

I went ahead and bought the 70-200 f4 because I couldn't wait. I need it for soccer starting the Sat after Labor Day and I've avoided getting a longer lens for so long, I think I missed some good opportunities on vacation this summer.
