Some weeks ago I spotted at our local airfield a Thunder Mustang, managing to get only what can best be described as cr@p shots of it airbourne at the time. Well today I went back and up it was again! I must be doing something wrong however as 60% of my shots today are blurry so I've sworn to turn the IS off entirely next time instead of using mode 2 for panning. Enough babbling here's a couple of "decent" pics:

I like the second shot so much, here's a 1200x800 link to it. :D

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

That must have been what I heard this morning. I heard what sounded like a merlin, rushed outside, but couldn't see it anywhere.

Nice shots Duncan.

Nice!!! It must be fun flying in one of those considering it is only 3/4 the size of the original P51s. I've had a few P51 models when I was a kid. Brings back good memories.

EDIT: Duncan, you can send in a photo of the plane and if they find it interesting enough they will put it up on their website and give you credit for it.

John;)

thanks guys, the size is really deceptive - you can tell there's something different but can't quite put your finger on it. Must be awfully cozy with two people in the cockpit too!
