Hi all,

For the first time, I got up early (for a Sunday in winter, anyway - it was 4c at 0630) to go and 'shoot' the annual City to Surf, held this morning (Sunday) in Perth, Western Australia. Yes, it really IS Winter still :)

Here are some of the better shots:

The calm before the storm, the main street of Perth, St Georges Tce an hour before the start, not much of a sign of the 26,000 entrants:

Early morning sun, 45 mins before the start, among the thick of things at the start line. Gee, it was hard to walk against the flow:

Getting started early, this young lady stood out like the proverbial:

The 'competition' (I concede). I expect he works for one of the papers or running magazines, but maybe he's just a rich bugger:

They're off. A slightly frightening view of over 26,000 people on their way up the rather steep first hill to Kings Park:

I heard this described as one of the most scenic fun runs (but I guess they all say that), this is tha Barracks Arch, with the runners heading over the Kwinana Freeway and up towards Kings Park. Parliament House is behind me:

Better stop now! The rest are here:

All taken with a 20D and either a Canon 10-22, a 24-70L or a 70-200L with 1.4 extender.

Comments welcome!

Thanks cbock, I straightend the image based on the arch and didn't realise the horizon was now crooked. I'll rework, thanks.
