From time to time I see a photo pop up of a window or a door.

I can understand pictures of girls... flowers... birds... old architecture... but why windows?

_______________

And you used to be able to understand taking pictures of girls but not windows and doors. Has that changed, Doc?

So you don't think people are likely to get upset by a complete stranger taking their picture? and if they do, what, you just don't care?

I don't know. Should I care? When people are out in public, they are subject to having their picture taken. On my recent vacation in Las Vegas, I saw a sign that the average tourist there is recorded on surveillance video cameras approximately 748 times a day. That's not a typo: SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY EIGHT times a day.

My taking snapshots pales in comparison to that. Some of the world's most famous photographers made their living from, and produced books of, candids they snapped of people going about their business, walking in the street, etc.

So, I guess the answer to your question is no, I don't care. And when and if the time comes that a person becomes confrontational, I'll deal with it then.

Now, now, of all the times we've been shooting together, have you ever seen me bring my monopod? Besides, it's carbon fiber and expensive. I wouldn't want to break it.

Hmm, just asking cause last summer in sydney there were cases of people taking photo's of girls on some of our beachs, not only did they object but their male companions objected too, violently, then the photographer was arrested.
Well, beaten, chased up the beach, then arrested!!

Exactly, it's carbon fiber, it won't break. ;) At worst, it will shatter into pieces like glass. You know whenever I shoot in the street, I'm always with someone else or in a group for safety reasons. I always bring my monopod with me. You never see me use it, and I hope I never have to.

The cops may have a problem with it in Australia, or there may have been other factors involved, but here in the states it's perfectly legal to take photos of people in public places... you just have to be reasonable if they ask you to stop.

That is, unless you're in a New York subway...

Well said. I didn't want to drag this out. But here in the states, it would have been the people who chased down the photographer and beat him/her up that would have gotten arrested, not the other way around.

Mark, she's hot. The boyfriend knows she's hot. He knows you think she's hot. He knows that you know that he knows you think she's hot. That's why he asked you to stop.

Truer words have yet to be spoken. These pictures don't do her justice.
Thanks, Lord.

Best response haha! I love the "he knows that she knows that he knows" lines...just saw a friends episode with that recently too.
